Wie kam ich zur Fotografie?

Im Jahr 2006 besuchte ich mit meiner Frau Island und kaufte mir im Vorfeld eine digitale Spiegelreflexkamera. Grundsätzliches Interesse an der Fotografie bestand bei mir schon lange, jedoch bin ich nie zu vor aktiv geworden. Mit diesem Urlaub auf Island wurde mein Interesse geweckt und ich professionalisierte mein Hobby von da an stetig.

Über Umwege in der Sport- und Tierfotografie entstand im Jahr 2013, durch Aufenthalte in den Alpen, ein vermehrtes Interesse an Landschaftsfotografie.  Insbesondere Island, Bergregionen und Küsten haben es mir angetan. Die fantastischen Sonnenaufgänge, besonderen Wetterstimmungen mitten in der Natur mit der Kamera genießen zu können ist immer wieder ein besonderer Kontrast zu meinem Alltagsleben. Das sind Momente, in denen ich Kraft und Energie tanke. Das Ergebnis sind dann oft Bilder, die mir für immer im Kopf bleiben.

In den letzten Jahren gewann ich mit meinen Bildern mehre nationale und internationale Auszeichnungen unter anderem einen Kategoriegewinn bei den renommierten "Sony World Photographie Awards" im Jahr 2016.

Was inspiriert mich beim Fotografieren? Die in der Landschaftsfotografie ständig wechselnden Lichtsituation und -stimmungen inspirieren mich immer wieder. Der Spruch „Fotografie ist malen mit Licht“ ist für mich en Leitsatz!

How did I get into photography? In 2006 I visited Iceland with my wife and bought a digital SLR camera beforehand. I have had a basic interest in photography for a long time, but I've never been too active. With this vacation in Iceland my interest was aroused and from then on I steadily professionalized my hobby. Via detours in sports and animal photography, an increased interest in landscape photography arose in 2013 through stays in the Alps. I especially like Iceland, mountain regions and coasts. To be able to enjoy the fantastic sunrises, special weather moods in the middle of nature with the camera is always a special contrast to my everyday life. These are moments in which I recharge my batteries. The result is often images that stay in my head forever. In recent years I have won several national and international awards with my pictures, including a category win at the prestigious "Sony World Photography Awards" in 2016. What inspires me when taking photos? The constantly changing light situations and moods in landscape photography inspire me again and again. The saying “Photography is painting with light” is my guiding principle!
